Camellia japonica Unryu - Zigzag Camellia

This amazing and unusual camellia is perfect for a sunny spot, part shade or a shady but very bright spot. It is unusual in its growth habit which produces a zigzag pattern in the stem. Unryu in Japanese translates to Dragon in the Clouds. And it refers to the zigzag pattern that is said to resemble a dragon climbing up to the sky. It flowers beautifully over winter and into early spring. Adorned with masses of stunning dark pink, veined flowers. It makes a stunning specimen plant in a pot or in the garden. Where it’s intricate branches and flowers can be viewed up close. It also makes a great hedge in the garden.
